Searching for a team
On the TEAM page enter the name of the team – try to avoid apostrophes and hyphens and 'The' at the start of the name, though database will recognise part of a name. You can
use the various filters – location, style, etc. to narrow your search.
We can't answer queries about availability of Morris sides or their programme of dance displays
If you require such information, go to TEAM > enter location (county/country) & tick 'active' box. Select any team then listed and go to their website or Facebook page for further information about how to contact them or where to see them.
Searching for a dance
On the DANCE page enter the name of the dance – try to avoid apostrophes and hyphens and 'The' at the start of the name, though database will recognise part of a name. You can
use the various filters – location, style, etc. to narrow your search.
We don't publish the notation of any dances
In many cases however there are links to where the notation may be found. If the dance shows a figure other than zero in the notes (nts) column, (or an entry other than 'none' in a team's listed repertoire) then a link to a video of the dance being performed may be available. These may be useful for instruction. Please acknowledge source of any new dance your side may acquire in this way from the database. Also see LINKS page for some
tutorial videos.
Searching for a tune
On the TUNE page enter the name of the team – try to avoid apostrophes and hyphens and 'The' at the start of the name, though database will recognise part of a name. Any tune in the database will be associated with at least one dance. Any one dance may be performed to more than one tune. Any tune may be associated to more than one dance, and particularly in the case of Cotswold dances there are likely to be several different variations of a tune with the same name, so often a specific variation will include the tune name AND the dance tradition.
We don't publish the music notation for any tune
However, any links to the notation of a dance may also include the notation or recording of the tune. Alternatively an internet search (Google, etc) for a specific tune name is likely to
give links to music or ABC notation.
